The Institute is involved in a wide range of different projects in our efforts to consolidate the heritage of Thor Heyerdahl. Here is a list of some of these projects.
A four-year Thor Heyerdahl Professorship in co-operation with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB).
The Thor Heyerdahl International Day is an annual conference organised by The Thor Heyerdahl Institute. It was held for the first time in 2006 as a one-day event.
The Thor Heyerdahl Institute and Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) have worked together on a number of projects since 2002.
The Institute plays an active role in the steering group of the local “Heyerdahl Town” project in Larvik.
On a regional level the partnership between Glasgow Caledonian University and the Institute has had spillover effects in all three counties of Vestfold, Telemark and Buskerud.
